Before: A Traffic Lane Down the Office Hallway Carpet
Look at the first photo. The hallway runs from the offices past the copier to the stairs, and there is a darker lane down the middle of it, exactly where everybody walks. In front of the copier there is a lighter rectangle. That is where Caleb had already started, and it shows you the difference before the rest of the hallway is done.
Rotary Extraction on Commercial Loop Carpet
Most of this job was done with a rotary extraction tool, the machine with the blue hose in the second photo. It spins across the carpet, scrubbing and extracting at once, and it leaves a clean stripe behind it that you can see from across the room. In the video from the job the stripes go down one after another, each one visibly lighter than the carpet next to it. On low, dense commercial loop carpet, that scrubbing action gets the soil out of the base of the fibers where a straight wand can leave it behind.

A rotary extraction tool spins cleaning heads across the carpet while it rinses and vacuums at the same time. On tight commercial loop carpet it scrubs the soil out of the base of the fibers more evenly than a straight wand, which is why the cleaned stripe in our photos is so uniform.
